I love teaching, first because I love sharing knowledge with people and second because teaching makes me learn also.
Until this year, all my courses were in French. This year I am teaching in English, for master students of the school of agriculture of Ningxia University, China.

I taught in three institutions:
  • As assistant lecturer at the National school of agronomy of Toulouse in the south of France (INP-ENSAT http://www.ensat.fr/en/about-us/the-inp-ensat.html)
  • At the University Technological Institute of Amiens in the North of France (UPJV-IUT Amiens).
  • Currently as a post-doc at the university of Ningxia (NXU), North of China.

My research work is a guideline for my teaching. As an ecologist, even when the subject of the course is not ecology, I encourage students to be aware of their environment and always make decisions taking it into account.

At ENSAT, I taught in the major fields of ecology, environment, entomology, crop protection and GIS (use of ArcGIS). My students at ENSAT were undergraduates and postgraduates.

At IUT, I designed and taught a major course on data analysis to undergraduate students.

Currently as a post-doctoral researcher at NXU I teach ecology. The course is an introduction to ecology. We also address biodiversity and integrated pest management. Each student will present at the end of the course an article of his choice on the subject of Ecology, Biodiversity or IPM. My students at NXU are postgraduates.

I think that active learning is the best way to teach. Therefore, as a teacher I foster as much as possible discussion during courses.
To improve my learning approach, I pursued several trainings. A training on how to manage and encourage students for their work during tutorials classes, in groups or at home. I also attended a training on the use of the educational server WIMS which is an online learning tool where students can practice with quizzes on a particular subject.
